Welcome to Bassetlaw Linux User Group or BassetLUG for short!
We meet every Wednesday in Worksop. Everyone is welcome to all our meetings. Bring a computer or just come as you are.
See
here for more details of the times and places. From time to time we arrange visits to
interesting places usually computer related. We call visits 'meetings' as well so you can find the
details
here.
We use the GNU/Linux Operating System, get to grips with it, help others install it and help each other with any problems we
have. That's what a 'User Group' is all about - sharing experience so that we all learn.
Q. Isn't Linux used by 'geeks' and 'nerds'?
A. Uh, well yes, but ....
Q. Aren't LUG's full of people that talk geekish things that normal people don't understand?
A. Maybe. Somewhere else. Not anywhere that we know of. Certainly not BassetLUG.
Oh! And one more thing before you browse around and drop us a line - You don't have to dress up in your best togs to attend
(although Philip does sometimes!). So the 'rules' are:
- Come as you are.
- Come with a question - or if you haven't one come anyway.
- Come with an answer - or just come and listen.
- The main thing is come and have fun!
We thought you might like a summary of what we do and so we thought long and hard about it. We filled and binned sheet
after sheet. Then we realised that it is really very easy:
Anything Linux
Well actually ...
Mainly - Anything Linux
And a bit of ... (shhh) the other OS
Erm... To be absolutely truthful:
